New England Dairy has launched its 2024 Dairy Promotion Grant program for Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Connecticut farmers.
Dairy farmers and dairy-focused groups are eligible to apply for grant funding of up to $2,400 annually to support activities aimed at improving public perception of dairy farming and increasing the consumption of local dairy products. Focusing on engaging youth and millennial consumers, New England Dairy strives to foster connections between farmers and local consumers.
The initiative is part of the organization’s mission to champion the dairy industry, build trust among consumers, and celebrate the vital contributions of dairy farming to nutrition and wellness.
In 2023, more than $41,000 in grant funding was awarded to support 28 farmer-led dairy promotion activities within communities throughout the region. These included open farm days, milk samplings, summer camps, and more.
The deadline to apply for grant funding for projects taking place between February and August is February 2, 2024. A second round of funding will be available for projects occurring later in the year.
