We are excited to announce that our new Fuel Up to Play 60 player ambassador is New England Patriots defensive end #50, Chase Winovich!
Chase grew up playing football in his hometown of Jefferson, PA before committing to play at the University of Michigan, where he was named to the All-Big Ten Team twice during his collegiate career. After college, Chase was chosen by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Chase had a busy and successful rookie season, racking-up 17 tackles and 5.5 sacks over 16 games. Off the field he paid off the school lunch debt in his hometown district, adopted an adorable puppy, and started a YouTube channel to explore New England and get to know his fans. Check out his recent videos to see his first adventures and what he has been up to while social distancing at home.
Now in his second year as a Patriots defensive end, Chase is joining our Fuel Up team to promote eating healthy and staying active. We first learned about Chase’s love for dairy when we met him at our 2019 Hometown Grant event at Providence Career and Technical Academy. He brought a new level of energy and enthusiasm to the day, connecting with students and playing scrimmages with the high school football team. His excitement for the program is still going strong. When we recently chatted virtually, Chase said he, “want(s) to make sure the message is clear… shoutout to the dairy farmers out there!”
Fuel Up to Play 60 is made possible and supported by dairy farming families across the country and here in New England. Nearly 74,000 schools across the United States, including nearly 3,600 here in New England, participate in Fuel Up to Play 60. The program empowers students to drive change and work closely with educators to find creative ways to make their schools a healthier place.
Follow Chase on Instagram and Twitter for pictures, updates, and future FUTP60 announcements.
